Aglaonema Golden Papaya with self-watering pot | Chinese Evergreen Care

The Aglaonema Golden Papaya is a Chinese Evergreen variety with bright yellow-green leaves and a soft pink midrib running through the centre, a warm color combination that gives it its fruit-inspired name. Unlike some of the more color-hungry Aglaonema varieties, Golden Papaya tolerates lower light reasonably well while still holding a good amount of its color, making it one of the easier colorful houseplants to place around a home. This listing comes potted in a self-watering pot, pairing an already forgiving plant with an even easier watering routine.

Aglaonema Golden Papaya Care Guide:

☀️ Light: Low to bright indirect light. It tolerates shade reasonably well, though brighter light keeps the color more vivid.

💧 Water: Water when the top 2 to 5 cm of soil is dry, keeping it on the drier side rather than soggy. With the self-watering pot, keep the reservoir filled and let the plant draw water as needed.

🌡️ Humidity and temperature: Prefers moderate humidity and normal room temperatures. Keep away from cold drafts and AC vents.

🪴 Soil: A well-draining mix with perlite prevents root rot.

🌱 Fertilizing: Balanced fertilizer every 4 to 6 weeks in spring and summer. Skip it in winter.

✂️ Pruning and repotting: Trim yellowed or damaged leaves at the base. Repot every 2 to 3 years, or once the plant outgrows its pot.
